4K artificial intelligence visual processing chip released

Shandong Industrial Technology Research Institute officially released a 4K ultra-high-definition artificial intelligence visual processing chip. This is also the second high-end chip launched by United Nations Technology Micro, the integrated circuit innovation center of Shandong Industrial Research Institute, based on the Taishan platform.




It is reported that the 4K ultra-high-definition artificial intelligence visual processing chip is a professional chip product for the pan-security market. The chip adopts an advanced 12nm low-power process technology, innovatively integrates a 4K60 frame image processing unit and a neural network computing unit into one "core", providing users with excellent image presentation effects, equipped with a 4T computing power efficient neural network computing unit and a dual-core digital signal processor, to meet users' differentiated machine vision computing needs, and can be flexibly applied to various usage scenarios. It is expected to become a new benchmark for ultra-high-definition artificial intelligence visual processing chips.

It is reported that the platform integrates a high-performance 8K video codec processor, 8K image display processor and video AI super-resolution processor, bringing users a new generation of immersive audio-visual entertainment experience. In the 5G era, video has become the core basic technology of the electronic information industry. From standard definition to high definition to ultra high definition, the new generation of communication and video technology industries has ushered in a window period. Industry insiders predict that in 2022, the ultra-high-definition industry market will reach 4 trillion yuan. As the cornerstone of industrial development, 8K chips have opened up the key node from technology incubation to product mass production for the first time. Sun Dianyi, president of Shandong Institute of Industry and Research, introduced that 8K ultra-high-definition chips will be mass-produced in Jinan in 2021, and it is expected to bring an industrial scale of 10 billion yuan after reaching production.
